How it Works

For the Remote Online Notarization (RON) process, you will need:

  • A desktop computer, laptop or tablet equipped with a microphone, speakers and a camera (mobile phones are not recommended)
  • The latest version of Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari
  • Permission for your browser to use the microphone and camera functions of the host device
  • A fast and reliable high-speed, broadband Internet connection
  • Access to an email account via the device you will be using
  • A US social security number
  • A current US driver’s license or state ID, or a current passport
  • Unrestricted credit files with the three major credit bureaux: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion

The following are also recommended:

  • An active US mobile phone number
  • Pictures in JPG/JPEG format of the front and back of your US driver’s license or state ID, or of the photo and signature pages of your passport, saved on your mobile phone or the device you will be using for the online notarization
  • A face selfie saved on your mobile phone or the device you will be using for the online notarization

Here are the steps involved to complete your notarization:

1. Upload your document as a .pdf file (at least one hour before your appointment time).

2. Check the current fee by visiting the Pricing page, and make your payment by credit card through our secure payment portal via the Make a Payment page. You will receive a receipt by email.

3. Book your appointment by following the link provided. After your appointment is confirmed, you will receive an email with instructions and information. Review this email carefully!

4. At or shortly before your appointment time, you will receive an email to begin your online notary session. Carefully read and follow the instructions in this email.

5. If you were required to go through identity verification, your notary session will begin once the identity verification session has been completed.

6. All done! You will be provided with access to your notarized document at the close of the RON session.
